mathiasandClaude Opus 5.5 e614d39e06 test(symlinkguard): an unremovable special file must not be reported as removed (#179)
CI / Lint / Test / Vet (pull_request) Successful in 1m15s
CI / Mirror to GitHub (pull_request) Skipped
Review round 2 on PR #190: swallowing root.Remove's error in
removeSpecial left every test green (the false 'removed' alert also named
the file). The test now asserts no message says 'removed'; red under that
flip.

mathiasandClaude Opus 5.5 edcfe9e9bc test(symlinkguard): pin the alert for a special file Watch cannot remove (#179)
CI / Lint / Test / Vet (pull_request) Successful in 1m14s
CI / Mirror to GitHub (pull_request) Skipped
Review round 1 on PR #190:
- B1: dropping the unremovable special files from Watch's persistent
finding left every test green. New test: a FIFO in a read-only dir
stays and the alert names it; red under that flip.
- The removeSpecial doc and test comment no longer claim a regular file
swapped in is always left alone: the re-check narrows, but cannot close,
the window before the unlink (as in removeSymlinks).
- Messages: the special-file finding says what one is and to delete it;
the persistent alert no longer talks only about symlinks.
- Rule 9: the Watch removal test is named for what it observes.

mathiasandClaude Opus 5.5 f1f975d281 fix(symlinkguard): report and remove FIFOs, sockets and devices too (#179)
CI / Lint / Test / Vet (pull_request) Successful in 1m18s
CI / Mirror to GitHub (pull_request) Skipped
The tripwire looked only for symlinks. A FIFO in the brain passed it: at
classification.yaml it made startup exit (classification.Load refuses a
non-regular file, #176), and at a note path it could hang a reader that
skips the handle check.

- Scan reports special files (anything not a regular file, directory or
symlink) in Result.Special; Clean() and String() include them, so the
startup check refuses with a clear message naming the path.
- Watch removes them as it removes symlinks, through an os.Root, after
re-checking each is still special (a regular file, directory or
symlink swapped in is left alone and reported).

The live brain has no special files (checked before this change), so the
startup check does not newly refuse.

## `main` is protected: ship by PR (local-dev#42, decided 2026-10-08)
Gitea refuses direct pushes to `main` in this repo, and a PR merges only after its CI status (`CI / Lint / Test / Vet (pull_request)`) passes.
**Why:** local-dev rule 5's reviewed lane (risk/medium+ is reviewed by a human) was enforced on the merge tools
(`tbd_ship`, `pr_merge`: gitea-mcp v0.17.0/v0.18.0, merge only for an issue labelled exactly `risk/low` with green CI)
but not on a direct commit to `main`, which bypassed it. This overrides rule 5's "risk/low commits straight to main"
for this repo; control code is where the lane matters.
**How:** `tbd_ship` for a one-file change, or branch -> PR -> `pr_merge` (name the `risk/low` issue); above `risk/low`
open the PR and a human merges it in the Gitea UI after review. Tags are not protected. CD jobs push image tags to
the **infra** repo with deploy keys, never to this repo's `main`. Undo (Mathias only): Settings -> Branches, or
`PATCH /repos/mathias/hyperguild/branch_protections/main {"enable_push": true}`.
